Following an invitation from Councillor Adam Harrison, Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden, Climate Emergency Camden has joined the advisory team for Camden Council’s Citizens’ Assembly process.
The Council is organising the Citizens’ Assembly in July “to decide how Camden should help address the growing climate crisis”. It aims to collect residents’ ideas about how Camden’s homes, neighbourhoods, Council and country could change to tackle the issue.
Climate Emergency Camden intends to work with the organisers to feed in proposals from its Action Plan and ensure that the Citizens’ Assemblies address ecological breakdown as well as climate crisis. Our aim is to ensure that the Council’s new Environment Plan for Camden is sufficiently robust, far-reaching and urgent.
